Objective: to raise \u20ac1 million to launch pre-industrialisation.<\/p>\n<p>AberActives, a start-up based in Finist\u00e8re, is innovating in the production of ingredients from seaweed, with an extraction method that is more precise and less energy-intensive than traditional chemical processes. Having validated its technology, the company is now looking to raise \u20ac1 million to launch its first small-scale production run. \u2018Our biorefinery technique, which uses enzymatic hydrolysis, marks a significant advance in this field, as it enables us to exploit the diversity of natural compounds in algae while minimising the energy and environmental impact,\u2019 explain Robert Larocque and Bernard Kloareg, two of the three co-founders who set up AberActives four years ago in Roscoff (Finist\u00e8re).
